I fall in love too easily, said Chet

By candlelight two garnets

illuminated the blush of your nape

where my lips belong.

Your open collar deepened

a shadow of an invitation.

Wood smoke mingled

with your fragrance.

Memory intoxicates me.

Larry Oakner's poems, erotic and otherwise, have been published in many online and print journals and magazines, including The Erozine and Pink Litter, as well as Red Wolf Press, The Ekphrastic Review, Ghost City Review,  Blood & Bourbon, and Burningword Literary Journal (entered as a Pushcart Prize nominee.)
